Cherry Wood
Cherry Wood is a 40 acre sustainably managed woodland situated in a sheltered valley branching from St. Catherine's Valley, five miles to the north east of the City of Bath.
A sustainable woodland management project incorporating a woodland school teaching green woodwork, bush craft and a variety of coppice skills.
There is a well equipped tented workshop with eight pole lathes, eight shave-horses and ample tools.
The kitchen has a waist level open fire and an earth oven. A full range of utensils and basic ingredients are provided.
There is a compost toilet facility and efficient wood heated shower.
On courses, a delicious lunch, coffee and tea are provided using local and, where possible, organic produce. Students prepare their own evening meals using the kitchen. An opportunity to relax and socialise after a hard day's bodging!
Leave behind the stress and pressures of modern life and step into a world without TV, radio, newspapers, electricity and ‘phones. Enjoy using your hands and age old techniques to produce a beautiful and useful artefact to take home.
